T.O.B. go to Sauce

Ingredients

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1/3 cup grated onion

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • 3 minced garlic cloves

  • 1 28-ounce can of crushed tomatoes

  • 1/4 teaspoon granulated sugar

 

Instructions

  1. Allow butter to melt in a medium saucepan over medium heat

  2. Once melted, add the onion, oregano, salt, and red pepper flakes.

  3. After about 5 minutes (onion should be browned slightly), add the garlic and stir.

  4. After about 2 minutes add the tomatoes, and sugar.

  5. Turn the heat down to low-medium and allow it to simmer until it thickens (about 30 minutes).

  6. Remove from heat and set aside.

 

Tips

  • Use sauce within 2 days of making.

  • You can freeze for up to 2 months.
